Beautiful wall mask of a young girl made of achatite by Goebel SchauBach in Germany.
The mask is in very good condition considering its age and dates from the 1950s/60s.
Many copies have been made, but this is a unique, genuine achatite mask, also known as papier-mâché.
Dimensions: height 16 cm, width 15 cm, depth 6 cm, weight 210 grams, color brown.
Achatite is a non-ceramic, non-metallic material made from fine stone powder, sawdust, and a binding agent.
It is poured into a mold and then polished with achatite stones, which also explains the name.
