Frattini completed his architecture studies at the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1953. Subsequently, he worked initially at the studio of Gio Ponti before establishing his own design studio in the mid-1950s. Frattini collaborated with renowned manufacturers, including Cassina, Artemide, Knoll, Bernini, and Acerbis. His designs are known for their elegant proportions and creative, artisanal woodworking. Among his most famous designs are the Kyoto Table (1974) and the Boalum Lamp (1970). The nesting tables offered here were designed by Frattini in 1966.
Furthermore, Gianfranco Frattini was a co-founder of the ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale)—the Italian Association for Industrial Design.
