An original vintage Gelderland armchair, model Oberman 601.
An iconic design by Jan des Bouvrie.
This Oberman still features the original leather upholstery and has been very carefully and fully restored.
The armrests are fitted with new leather tips and new foam padding.
The seat has been partially refilled with feathers/down on top of a renewed foam base.
Zippers and Velcro have been replaced, and additionally, an anti-slip base has been added to the seat.
All of this was done to preserve the original leather upholstery as much as possible and keep it usable.
The sturdy, thick stainless steel tubes have been fully polished and show no corrosion or similar damage.
The photos show a beautiful, weathered patina: craquelé and slight cracks in the upholstery are part of this.
In our restorations, we strive to preserve as much of the original upholstery and patina as possible.
