Special original Gelderland 4800 3-seater sofa, designed by Henk Vos in 1982.
A characteristic Dutch design classic with a minimalist design, sleek continuous lines, and Gelderland's characteristic solid construction.
Special Vintage Edition
This Gelderland 4800 has been professionally re-upholstered in the past with a striking orange-white patterned Arco fabric. The recognizable Arco label is present on the side.
The combination of Henk Vos's understated design with the distinctive vintage fabric makes this edition special and unique.
Condition Of The Upholstery
The upholstery is in good vintage condition, appropriate for its age and previous use.
The fabric has some visible signs of wear and local damage to the weave, including some worn spots. These are deliberately clearly shown in the detailed photos.
The damage is local; most of the upholstery is neat, and the fabric still has a beautiful, characteristic appearance. The sofa is explicitly offered as a vintage edition and not as a newly upholstered sofa.
Original Gelderland Construction
The sofa features Gelderland's characteristic zipper and Velcro system, visible on the underside. The frame is made of solid beech wood and equipped with steel Nosag wave springs.
The construction feels sturdy and solid.
An important advantage of this Gelderland system is that the cover can be replaced or re-upholstered again in the future. This allows the sofa to be adapted to a different interior or color palette if desired.
