Offered is a three-part, black-and-white photo series titled ’Fryslân’, or Friesland. The images date from 2010 and 2011 and were taken during the second year at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam. The initial goal was to ‘portray’ Friesland. Commuting between the west and the north for weekends on end ultimately resulted in a trio of minimalist, almost two-dimensional images, each symbolizing the flatness and emptiness of one of Holland’s most beautiful provinces. The dimensions of the works are 80x100cm (4x5” negatives), and they are mounted on Dibond. This series of photos is unique; there are no copies of the images in circulation, neither large nor small.
