Beautiful and rare stained-glass panel by the renowned Dutch glassmaker Frans Heetman, dating from the period 1950-1960.
37 x 23 cm (0.5 cm thick)
This handmade artwork features a characterful, expressive profile portrait of a man with striking red/orange hair. The face and details have been hand-painted and fired with great craftsmanship, creating a beautiful, layered depth effect and a refined shadow structure on the skin.
The portrait is surrounded by a frame of atmospheric, textured green and turquoise cathedral glass. This type of glass contains the small air bubbles and texture variations so characteristic of artisan mouth-blown glass.
When light shines through it, the panel truly comes to life with a warm, diffuse glow. Ideal for use as a decorative suncatcher on the windowsill or to hang in front of a window (the panel comes with the original metal hanging chain)
Artisan stained glass with hand-painted glass. In excellent vintage condition. The glass is completely intact throughout and shows no cracks or breaks.
The lead and solder work is solid and sturdy.
