Flowers in Vase - hydrangeas, zinias & golden flower - Painter DM Hoogeveen The frieze douwe mattheus hoogeveen was a pupil in utrecht of elisabeth hovy and mauritz van der valk, both realist painters. D.M. Hoogeveen lived in Haarlem for many years and was a member of kunst zij ons doel. He was also a member of Den Boun van Fryske Kunstners in Leeuwarden. This painting was made in 1949, the time he lived in Haarlem. The painting was purchased by my grandfather, a Frisian, living in Aerdenhout, who probably knew D.M. Hoogeveen personally. Hydrangeas, marigolds and zinnias - beautiful colorful and flowered still life. Signature at bottom right with date 1949 in original 1949 frame - some minor damage to frame, easily repairable. The painting itself is in good condition! Size: 25 x 30 cm (h x w) including frame 37 x 42 cm (h x w) the painting is also easy to remove from the current original frame, if desired.
