For sale: “Nictea” pendant light, designed in 1962 by the renowned Italian design duo Tobia Scarpa and Afra Scarpa, and produced by the Italian company Flos.
This pendant light is one of the Scarpas' first collaborations with Flos and perfectly exemplifies Italian modernist design of the 1960s. The lamp features a brass structure with plastic elements, characteristic of the Scarpas' work, which combines elegant materials with formal rigor.
The original design included a glass diffuser, now missing, revealing the lamp's graphic structure. Even in its current state, the piece retains a strong sculptural presence and may appeal to collectors of designer lighting or those who appreciate the restoration of iconic pieces.
