About Floris Meydam:
He joined the Leerdam Glass Factory in 1935, first as an assistant in the advertising department and later as an assistant designer. In 1947, his first designs for glass sculptures and decorative glassware were exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, including a bowl designed by Meydam in 1945, entitled "The Miraculous Catch of Fish." The museum's poster depicts a decorated vase designed by Meydam. From 1947 onward, he designed several glass panels and windows with figurative images, such as "The Apple Harvest" (1947 – Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam) and the memorial window "St. Martin" (1950 – Municipality of Elst). He also designed decorated windows for the train station in Leerdam and the Vondelpark Pavilion, both in 1947, and later in 1950, windows for the chocolate factory De Baronie and the bicycle factory Union. In 1949, he succeeded Andries Copier (1901-1991) as chief designer of the Leerdam Glass Factory.
