Crafted in black stained oak and resting on a slender frame of chrome-plated steel, the piece reflects Florence Knoll's signature emphasis on proportion, visual restraint, and material honesty. The expressive grain of the black stained oak veneer adds depth and tactility to the otherwise minimalist composition, while the chrome-plated steel base lends a refined sense of lightness.
The sleek front is interrupted only by discreet, recessed handles and integrated locks, preserving the strict horizontal rhythm and architectural simplicity of the design. Behind the four doors, the cabinet reveals an interior of warm-toned wood with adjustable shelves, offering generous and practical storage space. A particularly attractive feature is the fully finished back, allowing the piece to be placed freely in a room as a room divider or floating sideboard – perfectly in line with Florence Knoll’s architectural vision of functional, open interiors.
