This is a vintage item. This means it has been used. Items are not new or perfect, but they are very beautiful! Most vintage items show signs of wear. The extent to which these signs of wear are present is stated in the description. Photos are part of this description. Please examine them carefully. Vintage (read: used) items sometimes show color variations, uneven wear, and/or normal wear. Please take this into account when making a purchase. This is a glass ashtray designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso, manufactured in Italy during the 1960s. The object is a representative example of the sommerso technique, a characteristic method within Murano glass art in which different color layers are fused together without mixing.
The ashtray is constructed from solid Murano glass and displays a clear, geometric design. The core of the object has a deep red color, enclosed by a transparent, light yellow outer layer. This color combination and the faceted edges create a dynamic play of light and emphasize the depth of the material. The design reflects the aesthetics of Italian design from the mid-twentieth century.
The object is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The original luster of the glass has been preserved, contributing to the authentic character of this vintage piece.
This ashtray functions not only as a practical utensil but also as a striking decorative object. It fits perfectly in an interior with Mid-Century Modern influences or as a colorful accent in a contemporary setting.
