This extraordinary table lamp was crafted from a very rare fireplace vase by the West German ceramics manufacturer Marei – a true statement piece for lovers of distinctive ceramic forms. The angular, almost sculptural silhouette with its striking side handle gives the lamp a powerful presence in any room – a striking accent lamp that not only illuminates a space but also visually transforms it.
Marei is one of the lesser-known but highly regarded German ceramics manufacturers of the post-war period. The company is known for its unique design language, a blend of functionalism and expressive studio ceramics. The abbreviation Marei stands for Majolikafabrik Reinbach (Jean Fuss & Sohn).
The vase measures approximately 25 cm in height, with a width of 14 cm at the front and 7 cm at the narrow side. The lamp, including its shade, reaches a total height of approximately 89 cm, making it ideal as a tall table lamp or as a standalone piece on a sideboard, console, or pedestal. The cylindrical lampshade, 20 cm in diameter, is covered in high-quality Japanese cotton fabric. Its graphic water lily pattern lends the warm light a delicate, atmospheric texture.
