Beautiful vintage extendable dining table, produced by the AwA furniture factory in the 1960s. The table comes from the first owners of a farmhouse in Ridderkerk and was purchased at the time together with a matching set of four dining chairs.
In our workshop, the table has been carefully inspected and restored, preserving its characteristic patina. The tabletop has been fully repaired, allowing the beautiful wood grain to come into its own once again. The solid teak legs have been beautifully darkened again, creating a striking and powerful contrast together with the lighter tabletop. Naturally, light signs of use, appropriate for its age, are still present.
The table stands firmly on its legs and feels very solid. Moreover, thanks to the two extension leaves, it is particularly practical to use. When closed, the table comfortably seats four people, while it can be extended in seconds to a pleasant six-person table. The extension system works smoothly, and the extension leaves align nicely with the fixed tabletop. The design is a typical Dutch interpretation of the Scandinavian style of the 1960s: functional and somewhat sleeker, yet with a warm appearance thanks to the rich teak wood and refined details. The slender, slightly tapered legs give the table an elegant and airy look, while the balanced proportions ensure that it appears both stylish and modern at the same time.
In short: a beautiful mid-century dining table that will last for many years to come.
