This striking 63.7 cm tall modernist sculpture represents a magnificent example of late 20th-century Italian art glass, individually handcrafted by an independent Murano atelier. Free from the constraints of industrial mass production, this piece stands as a unique, non-attributed gallery work of exceptional technical virtuosity.
Masterful Techniques & Visual Impact:
The "Fenicio" & Calcedonio Wave: The globular base is enveloped in molten glass threads, masterfully combed using traditional tools (manerba) to recreate the organic, flowing veins of natural agate and chalcedony stones. Striated waves of ivory and brown frame vibrant windows of pure crimson and cobalt.
Dynamic Fluidity: The elongated neck features a powerful, elegant hand-twisted spiral. This fluid motion catches and bends ambient light, accentuating the thickness of the clear external glass.
Incamiciato (Cased Glass): The interior of the neck is lined with a flawless layer of white opaline glass. This historical technique acts as a light reflector from within, maximizing the depth and saturation of the exterior colors.
With its substantial weight (approx. 1.9 kg) and solid low center of gravity, this monumental artwork functions flawlessly as a dramatic floor sculpture or a focal statement piece for high-end minimalist, postmodern, or contemporary interiors.
