Description
Shredded Dreams (2023) is a unique wall object from the GMK Series by Erol Oztan. In this series, the artist explores the relationship between personal transformation and the human urge to change the world.
The work consists of a powerful layered structure of wood, paper, and glass. Dark, almost volcanic forms build up a rough relief in which reflective glass fragments create subtle light accents. The mirrored backplate enhances the spatial effect and directly draws the surroundings and the viewer into the work.
Within the GMK series, the work symbolizes the process in which ideas, dreams, and beliefs are broken down and reshaped. The work thus refers to a simple yet fundamental idea: the desire to change the world begins with changing oneself.
Due to the combination of materials and the layered structure, the work is situated at the intersection of sculpture, relief, and installation art.
This work is a unique piece.
