This five-light cascade pendant lamp was manufactured in the 1970s by the Czechoslovak company Elektroinstala Jílové. The model 68816/1 is a defining example of Central European Space Age and Mid-Century Modern design, characterised by its dynamic, minimalist form. The fixture is constructed from plastic with matte and glossy black finishes, featuring brass cord grips at the canopy and white cables. Five independent cords extend from a round black ceiling canopy measuring 22 cm in diameter, terminating in slender black cylindrical fixtures that are 14 cm in height and 5 cm in diameter. The design allows for individual height adjustment of each light point, with a maximum drop length of approximately 100 cm. The standard period-appropriate sockets are concealed within the tubes. The lamp is fully functional, with the electrical wiring and bulb sockets in working order. The plastic components are preserved in their original state, free from cracks. This unit serves as a complete mounting assembly and functions as a raw, industrial tube-style chandelier, as it does not include the original glass crystal shades. This pendant lamp is well-suited for contemporary, industrial, or retro-inspired interiors. It provides a striking focal point above a dining table, in a stairwell, or within a living space, complementing both minimalist and eclectic decor styles.
