Elegant square porcelain plate by Hutschenreuther Selb, presumably from the 1920s to 1930s. The octagonal-looking, geometrically structured shape and the richly ornamented gold-colored rim correspond to the decorative aesthetics of Art déco.
The wide rim shows a finely crafted decor of stylized flowers, leaves, and geometric ornaments. The restrained white center provides an effective contrast. The plate is suitable as a small serving or confectionery plate, but it also looks particularly beautiful as a decorative cabinet plate on a stand.
On the underside is the green factory mark "Hutschenreuther Selb – LHS – Bavaria". Additionally, the embossed form number "1166" and a gold-colored handwritten decor or control number, presumably "4768", are present.
Very good condition commensurate with age. No chips or cracks visible. In the white center, slight age- and use-related surface marks are visible; the elaborate gold decor is overall very well preserved. Please note the detailed photos.
