This molded plywood leg brace was designed by Charles & Ray Eames. It is one of the first production pieces from EVANS PRODUCTS. During World War II, the U.S. Navy commissioned Charles and Ray Eames to create a lightweight and inexpensive leg brace. The resulting highly sculptural yet functional modular device could be mass-produced and easily transported. This success later led to the production of the famous LCW (Leg, Body, and Wheels) and the plywood furniture distributed by HERMAN MILLER and VITRA. Some signs of wear. A design icon from the western USA. Secure shipping via Colissimo.
