The Eames Compact Sofa, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, is an iconic piece of furniture from the mid-twentieth century. This specific example is distinguished by its clean, architectural lines and deep black upholstery, making it a timeless addition to any interior.
The sofa is crafted with a robust steel frame, finished with chrome-plated legs that create a floating effect. The seat and backrest are upholstered in high-quality black fabric, contributing to the minimalist character of the design.
The construction is designed to offer both comfort and durability, characteristic of the innovative approach of the Eames duo.
The furniture is in excellent condition, with the original finish and character preserved. The upholstery shows minimal signs of use; only a small piece of stitching is missing in the center of the seat seam—as can be seen in the photos.
The European versions of this piece of furniture were produced by Vitra. The paper production sticker is normally affixed to the underside of the frame tube, but unfortunately, it is missing from this piece of furniture.
