A face to live in... This sensational armchair sculpture blurs the line between contemporary art and design. Displayed as a work of art in the living room, interior, office, or garden, Nemo creates a dreamy and fantastic universe. The backrest of this armchair reveals a disturbingly realistic human face. The inside of the seat allows you to appreciate the design of the facial muscles.
This asexual face with classic features is sculpted as a universal model. Without passion, without expression, and without memory, this face is as if it is timeless. There is an element of theatricality in this oversized mask that allows us to hide, protect ourselves, and retreat to a secret place. The eyes let you see without being seen... You must look with your eyes, let yourself be carried away, not be surprised by the strangeness you feel when you stick your head into the hollow of this human face... The Nemo armchair is characteristic of the work of Fabio Novembre, one of the most famous designers of the past decade.
By favoring anthropomorphic forms, design becomes for Fabio Novembre a true means of expression that is no longer limited by strictly functionalist forms. His creations are part of a figurative movement that takes the opposite approach to abstract design.
This armchair is made of polyethylene and is available in white, black, or red. Thanks to the plastic finish, the chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The high backrest ensures a comfortable seating experience.
Unfortunately, due to lack of space, this bucket chair has only been in storage in a smoke-free environment. There is some yellowing here and there due to time. However, this can be completely remedied with a bleaching agent and sunlight. The chair can also be repainted in other colors.
The chair is also available for pickup. It is currently in storage in Amsterdam.
