This Dijkstra floor lamp from the 1970s is a characteristic example of Dutch design from the Space Age era. The design stands out due to the double, adjustable arches and the characteristic mushroom-shaped shades, which form an iconic silhouette typical of lighting from this period.
The lamp is crafted with a sturdy metal base and stand, finished in white. The two semi-circular shades are made of white acrylic glass (plexiglass), ensuring a soft, diffuse light distribution. The arches are flexibly adjustable, allowing the light to be directed as desired. The lamp is equipped with a foot switch and the original wiring is visible.
The fixture is in good condition commensurate with its age and use. The original finish has been preserved and the lamp functions properly, retaining its authentic vintage character.
This floor lamp looks excellent in a retro, eclectic, or modern interior. It is a striking object that offers both functional lighting and makes a strong decorative statement in a living room or reading nook. Minor signs of use on the base and the 2 curved rods. See photos.
