For sale is a beautiful and rare convertible sofa in the unmistakable style of the Mid-Century era, attributed to Wilhelm Knoll's iconic "Stella" design (1950s/1960s).
The piece impresses with its minimalist, armless design and a warm, solid wood frame. The absolute highlight is the ingenious, fully functional swivel mechanism: the two seating elements can be independently rotated outwards via a solid metal rail system. This transforms the compact two-seater sofa into a spacious, stylish daybed or guest bed in no time.
The sofa is in absolutely superb condition. The wooden frame is exceptionally well-maintained, and the swivel mechanism works perfectly.
It is upholstered in a high-quality, light-colored fabric with a modern palm leaf/botanical pattern (likely original upholstery). There is no brand label present. On the underside of the wooden frame is only an original workshop mark ("left"), indicating the classic, handcrafted manufacturing of this era.
Dimensions (as a sofa): approx. 160 (W) cm x 70 (D) cm Sleeping area (fully extended): approx. 200 cm length
