For sale: Dedalo umbrella stand, designed by Emma Gismondi Schweinberger for the Milanese company Artemide, original creation from 1966. Marked Artemide on the base. Two available, sold separately.
Its flattened igloo shape, made of dyed orange ABS plastic, with seven openings for umbrellas and walking sticks, makes it one of the most recognizable and poetic objects of 1960s household design. It disassembles into two parts for easy storage and transport.
This piece is part of the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Centre Pompidou.
Very good overall condition, with signs of wear consistent with its age.
