A charming pair of silver-colored metal quails serving as salt and pepper shakers. These were made in the 1970s by David Hollander & Sons, a prominent British silversmith and electroplating company based in Birmingham, England. Their logo is stamped under both quails: a triangle containing the letters Ds, along with the copyright symbol. During the same period, the Italian design company Gucci also released a similar pair of salt and pepper shakers. Although this is not Gucci, vintage tableware by David Hollander & Sons is highly sought after by collectors in its own right due to the excellent British craftsmanship and detailed feather decoration. PLEASE NOTE: Due to age and use, the silver plating has worn off in some places on the quails' feathers.
