This Danish teak sideboard from the 1970s combines impressive scale with the visual lightness characteristic of Scandinavian design. The two-metre cabinet rests on slender, splayed solid wood legs that create an impression of floating above the floor, lending dynamism to a piece of considerable proportions. The design integrates three types of storage into a cohesive whole. Closed drawers featuring distinctive horizontal grooves on their fronts conceal smaller items and documents, while an open central section accommodates larger objects or audio-visual equipment. Pull-out surfaces extend the working area when needed — a particularly practical solution for serving or spreading out papers. Teak veneer in a warm brown tone covers the entire chipboard carcass, creating visual unity across the piece. The 1970s marked a period when Danish furniture design had reached full maturity in storage solutions.
