Product description
Danish hall bench with drawer unit designed by Kai Kristiansen in the 1960s. Both items were manufactured in rosewood by Aksel Kjersgaard and bear the original stamps. The design of this elegant set perfectly illustrates Kristiansen's characteristic design language: refined proportions, slender, sculptural legs, and a particularly successful combination of functionality and simplicity. The loose drawer unit can be freely placed on the bench, allowing the ensemble to be used as a hall furniture piece, low console, sidetable, or even as a stylish piece of furniture in a bedroom or dressing room. Both items are in very good vintage condition with only a few superficial scratches that are not noticeable. Under the drawer unit, the wood is slightly darker in color (see photo) where the rest is slightly lighter in color. This is due to years of exposure to daylight but is not visible when the unit is on the bench (see photos). A particularly beautiful example of Danish design, with strong collector's value and a timeless character!
