The Danish chest of drawers from the 1970s, veneered in ash with a warm, honey‑toned colour. The piece represents the mature phase of Scandinavian modernism — a period in which earlier design solutions reached their final refinement and serial production approached the precision of traditional craftsmanship. The characteristic round handles with a horizontal bar give the fronts a distinctive and recognisable appearance. The construction is based on furniture board covered with ash veneer, ensuring stability while maintaining the visual lightness typical of Danish design. Four drawers of equal height create a calm, symmetrical composition. Each is fitted with a pair of wooden handles in the iconic circular form with a horizontal crossbar — a solution that is comfortable in use and simultaneously serves as the main decorative accent of the front. The piece stands on four low solid‑wood legs finished in black oil, introducing a subtle contrast and visually lifting the form above the floor. The 1970s brought a kind of democratisation to Danish furniture design — proven design principles entered wider production without losing their quality.
