RARE VINTAGE RAAK AMSTERDAM TABLE LAMP – MODEL D-2044 (1950s)
This rare and visually striking RAAK Amsterdam table lamp, Model D-2044, dates from the 1950s and exemplifies the refined artistry of mid-century Dutch design. Crafted from satin-finished milk glass, the lamp emits a beautifully soft, diffused light. The body features expertly cased double-layered glass: a white inner core and a transparent etched outer shell, creating a subtle yet luminous glow when lit.
Adding to its sculptural quality, two coated aluminum discs—one in industrial grey, the other in a bold mustard green—are suspended at different levels within the glass body. These floating elements add color, depth, and visual intrigue. At its core, a brass bulb holder is neatly secured by two screw rings, perfectly centered and complementing the lamp’s warm tone. A pre-drilled opening near the base allows the cord to exit cleanly, maintaining the lamp’s seamless silhouette.
This is a refined and rare example of post-war Dutch lighting, combining functionality with a poetic sense of design. It remains in very good vintage condition, with only light signs of age consistent with its era.
A true collector’s piece—both distinctive and atmospheric—this lamp adds character and warmth to any interior.
