Coupé Ad Arco Floor Lamp by Joe Colombo for Oluce, White Chrome, Vintage Design
The Coupé ad arco floor lamp, designed by the brilliant Joe Colombo for the Milanese company Oluce, is an original creation from 1967. The ad arco version with its semi-cylindrical shade is an exceptional and extremely complex piece to manufacture, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after variations of the Coupé family.
Very good overall condition, original fittings fully functional, some wear on the shade consistent with the lamp's age.

The Coupé series was initially designed as a variation of the Spider family by the same designer. The simple and ingenious mechanism connecting the stem to the head allows the beam to be directed in several directions by moving the dome up, down, and sideways. White lacquered base, chrome stem, adjustable semi-cylindrical shade in white lacquered aluminum—a perfect formal balance between geometric rigor and Italian elegance.
In 1968, the Coupé won the International Design Award from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York and the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich.
