The attractive "Convair" swivel armchair, designed in the 1970s by Norwegian designer Oddmund Vad for VAD Trevarefabrikk, is a striking example of its sculptural, almost spherical seat, which rests within a curved wooden frame. The rounded base allows for a smooth swivel mechanism, while the green, deeply tufted velvet upholstery gives the chair a rich and comfortable appearance.
The darkly stained curved woodwork contrasts beautifully with the vibrant fabric and emphasizes the typical Scandinavian modernism of that period. The armchair is in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear commensurate with its age.
