Information regarding the artist:
Louis Nagelkerke (Eindhoven, February 3, 1949) has been active as a professional artist since 1980. His work is characterized by great versatility and a continuous flow of inspiration and creative ideas. Themes such as movement, beauty, and mysticism play an important role in his art. He finds much of his inspiration in the Indonesian archipelago. He is strongly drawn to the mysterious aura of both the people and the animals that live there. The Eastern person, in particular, forms a recurring subject in his work. Musicians, dancers, and especially the inhabitants of the island of Bali, regularly appear in his paintings. People from the theater world also often serve as models.
The subjects he chooses are as diverse as life itself, but his fascination with Eastern culture, religion, music, and dance remains consistently visible. Louis Nagelkerke is best known for his realistic portraits of people and animals. His aim is to reveal the beauty of his subjects and thereby make a positive contribution to the world. With a keen sense of posture and atmosphere, he manages to convincingly capture the essence of his subject.
We prefer to sell the 8 works to a single buyer. You can bid starting at 1,500 euros for the 8 works. Individual sale: 350 euros each.
