This exceptional living room set from Coja combines the timeless elegance of Scandinavian design with the high-quality manufacturing of the Dutch producer. The ensemble consists of a generous 3-seater sofa and two matching lounge chairs and is attributed to the Danish designer Sven Ellekaer, whose designs are now among the most sought-after representatives of Scandinavian Modern. The complete set is in excellent original condition. The dark brown leather is supple and shows only minimal, age-related signs of wear. The solid wooden frames are also in excellent condition with a beautiful, even surface. For long-lasting seating comfort, the upholstery straps on both the sofa and both lounge chairs have been completely renewed. This ensemble thus combines the authentic character of original vintage furniture with excellent and comfortable seating. Sven Ellekaer (1926–1984) was known for his harmonious proportions, organically curved lines, and uncompromising focus on seating comfort. His furniture combines the lightness of Scandinavian design with an inviting, homely appeal. For Coja, he designed a series of distinctive upholstered furniture, whose characteristic combination of solid wood frames, generous leather upholstery, and fine leather details is still considered a design classic today. Particularly impressive is the successful combination of the warm wooden frames with the dark brown original leather. The softly padded, elaborately buttoned cushions seem to almost float in the delicate frame and give the sofa and armchairs their distinctive, inviting appearance. A rarely preserved complete set that combines Scandinavian design, high-quality materials, and timeless elegance in a special way.
