Product description
This elegant coffee table captivates with its round, original tabletop featuring a protective roll, as well as the decorative bentwood bracing and artful volute appliqués on the three-sided base. Handcrafted from bentwood, beech, and stained mahogany, the piece is hand-polished with shellac and embodies the high level of craftsmanship of Gebrüder Thonet around 1900.
A particular highlight is the original textile inlay of the tabletop, visible in the photographs. The table is documented in the bibliography "Illustrated Catalogue by Michael Thonet, Vienna 1904, page 70, Reading Table No. 1" and is considered an original vintage piece from the manufactory's early days.
