Lieke Marleen van Kalken or lilxlylilxly creates contemporary works that playfully explore the concept of perspective. Using a wide range of materials and techniques such as oil paint, drawing, paper collage, children's drawings, photography, digital manipulation and screen printing techniques, her work evolves through various stages of abstraction that do not always reach the point of completeness.

Vivid, bold, and full of movement. It began with a
childhood drawing Lieke made, a paper collage of a
butterfly, inspired by nature. Multicolor features a
photograph screen-printed on four acrylic plates: Cyan,
Magenta, Yellow, and Black. When layered, the full
spectrum comes to life.
Inspired by my childhood fascination with nature, this piece
speaks to identity and transformation. It reflects my
ongoing search for identity, blending past and present
through vibrant layers. A celebration of how things come
together, visually, emotionally, and conceptually revealing
depth through transparency.
