Product description
Mid - Century pendant lamp with glass elements in the shape of ice . This beautiful chandelier was manufactured by the famous brand Kalmar Franken (Austria) in the 1960s. The glass is supported on 2 levels by a metal construction. The irregular design of the glass creates a beautiful diffusion of light. During his career, Austrian designer J.T. Kalmar designed lighting fixtures for many renowned architects, as well as for important institutions, e.g., the Vienna Opera and the Vienna Stock Exchange. In the last decade of his life, Kalmar developed a number of very popular lighting collections, including Tulipan (c. 1960), Ice Glass (1960) and Atomic (1969). Kalmar lighting can be found in prominent locations around the world, including the RMS Queen Mary 2, the Kremlin Presidential Palace in Moscow and the Burj Tower in Dubai.
The lamp is in nice vintage condition, only on the metal at the top there is a little corrosion here and there which is not noticeable when the lamp is hanging.
