Product description
A sculptural object within the ongoing Adolescentia series. "Chairbacca" explores the boundary between furniture and being: an armchair that withdraws from its usual role and grows its own identity. The hair springs from the seat like a beard - playful, unruly and slightly alienating.
Where a traditional chair conforms to the user, this work seems to resist, or at least develop its own voice. The result is a hybrid of design, textile art and performance object.
Chairbacca can function as seating, but comes into its own best as a sculpture within an interior or exhibition.
