This striking designer chair, named Notorious, was designed in 1988 by Massimo Iosa Ghini for the Italian manufacturer Moroso and is considered one of the most expressive designs of the postmodern era.
Characteristic of the chair is its curved frame made of chromed tubular steel, which forms a sculptural silhouette and is combined with black wood for the backrest and armrests.
The oval backrest is mounted on two angled struts and appears to float. The seat and side panels are upholstered in a rich purple fabric that fans out, lending the chair lightness and dynamism. The elliptical forms and contrasting colors exemplify Iosa Ghini's distinctive, futuristic style, a blend of the Memphis Group and high-tech aesthetics.
Condition: The chair is in very good condition with only minimal signs of wear. The chrome plating shows no significant wear, the fabric upholstery is taut and clean, and the black wooden elements are also in well-maintained condition with only a few minor scratches. An exceptional collector's item for connoisseurs of avant-garde Italian design furniture.
