Volkoff Voldemar (1932–2007), a ceramic artist since 1950.
From 1952 to 1954, he worked in various workshops in Biot and Antibes.
From 1956 to 1959, he was a potter's wheel operator in Juan-les-Pins. Then, starting in 1960, he worked in Vallauris in the workshops of Capron, Anasse, Meynard, Portanier, Reynaud, and others.
He established himself as a potter in 1967.
He participated in the Biennales of 1970 and 1972, and subsequently exhibited in France and around the world.
His works are powerful and original; he often used muted shades of brown, both in figurative and abstract pieces: his glazes possess a harmony, a sensitivity, and a prodigious strength.
Here we have a hand-thrown and hand-shaped stoneware pitcher with a wall mount, crafted from brown stoneware with a blue-tinted, randomly applied metallic oxide glaze from a salt-fired kiln.
Ideal as a catchall.
Very good overall condition, see photos.
