A beautiful example of Dutch post-war design. This round dining table by Cees Braakman was designed for Pastoe (formerly UMS) in Utrecht and is one of the most distinctive pieces of furniture in the Dutch mid-century collection. Braakman was known for his sleek, functional design with warm, Scandinavian-inspired lines, and this is reflected in every detail.
The table is finished in teak veneer with a rich, warm wood grain. The slender, tapered legs are typical of Braakman’s aesthetic from this period. The tabletop extends via a central extension, allowing the table to effortlessly scale from intimate to large.

The sticker is no longer on it, but the provenance and design speak for themselves. The table shows signs of use consistent with its age: small scratches, a few stains, and a light patina in the veneer, which only adds to the character and authenticity of the piece.
