The Cassina LC2 armchair, designed by the iconic trio Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, is an absolute masterpiece of modern design. They designed the chair in 1928 for the Salon d'Automne, and it exemplifies their groundbreaking approach to form and function. The LC2 demonstrates the timeless appeal of Cubist design, in which the chair's structure is ingeniously brought out.
This armchair is crafted with a chrome-plated steel frame that firmly encloses the distinctive, loose cushions. The cushions are upholstered in black leather, creating a powerful contrast with the glossy tubular metal frame. The chair is clearly marked with the Cassina logo and serial number, confirming the authenticity of this design icon. The webbing construction under the seat offers both comfort and durability.
The chair is in good condition, with a beautiful patina that enhances the character of the leather. I have had the original red fabric upholstery replaced with good quality black leather (however, it is not the original Cassina leather). The webbing under the seat cushion is still taut and firm. The frame is by Cassina, rust-proof with minimal signs of use.
The price is for 1 unit. (2 units available – Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in 2 units or if you have any questions.)
