A beautiful example of Scandinavian furniture from the first half of the 19th century.
The chair was designed by Carl Malmsten for Fritz Hansen and is the precursor to the later Herrgarden chair and the Ulfasa chair. Carl Malmsten (1888-1972) designed this chair between 1930 and 1940.
The chair is very comfortable, partly due to the pre-formed seat cushions, which have a distinct structure, making them uniquely suited to this chair and providing extra comfort.
There is no evidence of wear on the seat or upholstery.
Seat height 48 cm (quite high).
