This cape was made in the cold regions of Sichuan in Southwest China by the Yi people.
Several times per day, women brushed their thick hair and brought the cape master the hair naturally caught by their comb. The long and silky hair of these women allowed the yak and sheep wool to be interwoven and guaranteed a very dense natural weave that made the cape almost waterproof. By wearing these capes the Yi men displayed their status and welt.
This a rare piece for the ultimate fashion collector.
