Large candleholder in patinated brass and smoked-tinted glass by Hans-Agne Jakobsson for Markaryd, Claudia model. This candleholder features an ingenious spring system concealed in the foot for the candle. It is in good overall condition, showing slight oxidation, slight chips on the lower base of the glassware not visible when assembled (see photos). Manufacturer's label. He worked closely with the Swedish company Markaryd to produce iconic lighting fixtures. Their partnership produced timeless design pieces that left their mark on mid-century Scandinavian aesthetics.
