This is an authentic chest of drawers designed by the legendary Danish designer Børge Mogensen (1914-1972), one of the founders of Danish Modernism and the long-serving chief designer of FDB Møbler.
This chest of drawers from the 1950s/60s embodies Mogensen's design philosophy of functional simplicity and honest use of materials. The piece is crafted from warm teak – the favorite wood of Scandinavian modernists – and is characterized by the iconic round recessed handles that serve as the designer's signature.
The cabinet features four spacious drawers, each equipped with two symmetrically placed handles and a central keyhole with a brass lock (key not included, drawers are not locked). The inside of the drawers is finished with a light-colored lacquer coating, contributing to its refined appearance.
The construction consists of a sleek rectangular frame with an elegant plinth at the bottom. The side panels display a beautiful teak grain. The back panel is made of hardboard.
Condition: Good (B). The furniture shows light signs of use consistent with its age of 60+ years, including light rings on the top and minimal veneer wear on the underside of the plinth. The handles, drawers, and overall structure are in excellent condition.
