Product description
Bring Italian mid-century flair into your home with this authentic chamber chandelier from Bitossi Ceramiche.
Designed by the legendary artistic director Aldo Londi, this piece belongs to the rare "Rimini Verde" (also known as "Sahara" or "Earth Tones") series. Unlike the more widely available "Rimini Blu," this version features warm, earthy tones: a base of olive green and ochre is accentuated by a vibrant band of burnt orange.
The surface displays Londi's signature sgraffito technique, in which geometric patterns (circles and lines) were hand-stamped into the raw clay before the glaze was applied. A wonderful collector's item from the "Fat Lava" era.
Condition report: The piece is in excellent vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The glaze has a beautiful shine. Inside the candle holder are minimal, age-related wax residues that do not affect its function. (Note on authenticity: As with many export pieces of this period, the object is unmarked on the base, but based on its shape, decoration, and glaze, it can undoubtedly be attributed to Bitossi.)
