‘Birillo’ side table with integrated lamp, designed by Parisotto for Fontana Arte, Italy, 1980s. A distinctly postmodern design in which lighting and furniture come together in an elegant and ingenious way. The table consists of a round glass top resting on a tapered plastic base in which the lighting is subtly integrated. When the lamp is on, the light spreads softly through the conical shape, creating a warm glow beneath the glass top. The base stands on a round chrome footing that gives the design a light and modern appearance. The interplay of glass, chrome, and plastic gives the object a clear and futuristic character that aligns well with the postmodern design of the 1980s. At the same time, the piece functions as both a side table and mood lighting. A unique and functional design by Fontana Arte in which form and light come together in a refined manner. In good vintage condition with light signs of use.
