The Biki armchair by Japanese designer Toshiyuki Kita for the Milanese company Cassina, from the Aki-Biki-Canta series created in 2000, was designed to meet the needs of both contemporary work and relaxation. Using the same round base, Kita playfully experiments with form: the Biki is distinguished by its enveloping backrest and armrests, offering generous support within a compact and sculptural volume.
The leather upholstery is removable, making maintenance easy. The base is made of matte black satin-lacquered steel. Original chocolate brown leather, superb overall condition, with a few minor signs of wear and slight wear on one leg.
Kita's works are included in the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg.
