Splendid antique bronze mirror dating from the Second Empire, 19th century.
Richly decorated in the Louis XV Rococo style, it features a marvelous radiant youthful mascaron dominating the pediment, surrounded by acanthus scrolls, volutes, and vegetal motifs.
The highly theatrical composition, the fine chasing, and the depth of the reliefs testify to remarkable bronze work.
The reliefs, subtly polished and patinated by time, contrast harmoniously with the darker recesses, giving the whole a striking presence.
The mirror is fitted with a beveled glass.
The reverse is original and complete.
In very good overall condition.
The bronze mount has a beautiful antique patina, with no significant chips or losses.
The only minor flaw is a small, discreet imperfection on the upper part of the glass, visible up close but barely noticeable once the mirror is hung.
