Product description
An exceptional small tray from the long-established Berndorf metalworks factory in Austria, likely dating from around 1900. The expressive high relief depicts two birds locked in dynamic combat. Wings and feathers are finely sculpted and extend partially beyond the rounded rim of the tray. The gold-colored surface emphasizes the three-dimensional nature of the motif. The tray can be used as a small paper bag, a jewelry or coin tray, a business card holder, or as a decorative collector's item. It is clearly marked "BERNDORF" on the back. A hanging device, presumably added later, also allows for its display as a small wall relief.
