Signed Belarti coffee table with a hand-glazed ceramic tile top on a polished chrome frame, made in Belgium in the 1960s-70s. The tableau displays a powerful abstract composition in orange, red, yellow, and turquoise on an anthracite background, with the speckled, flowing glaze effects typical of Belarti's work. The top is signed "Belarti" in the corner of the tile field.
The chrome base — less common than the black metal or wooden frames — makes this a more sought-after version, and the bright space-age color palette is among the most collectible Belarti has produced. Ceramic artist Juliette Belarti is one of the defining names in post-war Belgian decorative ceramics, and her tile tables are collected internationally.
The table is in very good vintage condition: the glaze has retained its depth and shine, and the chrome frame is clean and stable. A true collector's item that works both as a functional coffee table and a graphic eye-catcher in a contemporary or mid-century interior.
